Kæru stuðningsaðilar

Ég vil fyrir hönd ABC barnahjálpar koma á framfæri innilegum þökkum fyrir gjafir ykkar til fórnarlamba árásinnar í Gorja í Pakistan. Alls söfnuðust um 600.000 kr. Gjafirnar voru sendar til ABC í Pakistan sem deildi þeim meðal fórnarlambanna. Hér fyrir neðan er bréf frá Mike forstöðumanni í Pakistan til ykkar og myndir frá eyðileggingunni í þorpinu og frá afhendingu matvælanna.

 

Greetings from Pakistan!

First of all, I would like to thank you for your kind and prompt response to my request for assistance for victims of the Gojra massacre. We have been able to make some difference in the lives of the people who have been devastated by attacks on them because of their religious beliefs and poverty. Had these people been well to do, rich, or influential, this might not have happened to them.

In the relief provided to families, we included food items such as rice, flour, tea, milk, cooking oil and lentils. A few families which had been hit the hardest were helped with some other items of household kitchen needs also. We thought of helping them with beddings, clothes, etc., but some other organizations were helping them with that, hence we opted to stick to their food needs.

Along with the help ABC was able to provide for these people, our visit to the people was a way of telling them that we are with them and we love them.

A young boy who was shot in the leg said, ?The food we got will be eaten and gone, but your prayers for us, and the feeling of belongingness has made us stronger in this time of trial.?

A small boy when handed over a bag of rice was heard saying, ?It is good to know that there is an organization that specially loves and cares for children.?

While the people of Gojra were overwhelmingly thankful for the help given by ABC, they prayed that no one would ever need help like this and such hatred among people would be done away with.

I am sending you some pictures of the devastation caused in the area. A small church was burned, and in one picture you can see portions of the burned Bibles. In one picture you will be able to see the pictures of some people who were burned alive. Some pictures are also of the relief camp, where ABC was prominently present, and gave away help to these people in need. A few pictures show Christian community coming together in Islamabad on the ?Minority Day?, to protest the incident.

I, on behalf of all of us here and the people of Gojra, wish to thank all who contributed and helped us in this hour of need. We can?t thank you enough. But, God bless all of you and your lovely country.

Okkur hefur borist áríðandi neyðarkall frá Pakistan. Í byrjun mánaðarins voru um 120 hús kristinna fjölskyldna brennd og þær  misstu allar eigur sínar. Sjö manns þar á meðal konur og börn brunni inni og 150 aðrir slösuðust. 
ABC hefur sett á stað söfnun til að hjálpa fjölskyldum sem misst hafa allt. Söfnunarreikningurinn er 0344-26-1000 kt. 6906881589. Visamlegast setjið í TILVÍSUN  "Pakistan"
