Computer Education Strengthens Students' Future Prospects in Kenya
Computer education is an important part of MCE's work in Kenya, with strong emphasis placed on building students' digital skills. Special classes are held on Saturdays where students get the chance to become familiar with computers, learn the basics of computer use, and improve their typing skills. The training boosts students' confidence and helps them use digital technology more safely and purposefully.
Students also take part in Tutor Web learning, where they earn points through study and coursework. These points can then be converted into monetary value, which they use to buy essential items such as hygiene products, stationery, clothing, or other necessities. In this way, they learn important lessons in financial literacy, goal-setting, and responsibility in their own decision-making.
Some students have also received tablets, which make it easier to access their studies and give them the opportunity to further strengthen their digital skills. The goal is to better prepare the children for continued education and to increase their opportunities for the future in an increasingly technology-driven world.
